WWE have released two time former WWE Divas Champion Maryse from her contract. The announcement came on WWE today; “WWE has come to terms on the release of WWE Raw Diva Maryse as of today, October 28, 2011. WWE wishes Maryse the best in all of her future endeavors.”
No reason has been given for her release but she had recently been inactive through injury and on August 24th, went under the knife for surgery on an abdominal hernia. She took a lengthy hiatus away from television but recovered a few weeks back and WWE didn’t know what to do with her upon a return. Her character had been stuck on NXT which is usually the beginning of the end.
Interestingly she is real life boyfriend to The Miz but that couldn’t save her, though it’s said she was happy enough to hear the call for her release and probably would have quit sooner rather than later anyway.
