On her official Facebook page, former WWE Diva and Playboy cover girl Maria Kanellis notes that she is currently preparing for an in-ring comeback. "Let the wrestling training begin.... It time to get back in there."

Since being released from WWE last year, Kanellis has made a handful of wrestling appearances, including a recent appearance for indie group GCW where she managed her real-life boyfriend, ROH wrestler Mike Bennett. She is also a regular panelist for Afterbuzz TV's WWE Raw after show.
But while remaining very active in the wrestling business, she has generally steered clear of any in-ring action...until now that is. She has also had plenty of projects outside of wrestling since leaving WWE. There was her album, Sevin Sins, her own perfume line, she had a brief stint as an MMA broadcaster for HDNet's King of the Rage series, and she hosted her own horror movie series for Code Red DVD.
It's unknown at this time what promotion she would debut for, when she does return to the ring as a wrestler. Certainly a group like WSU (Women's Wrestling Uncensored) would be ecstatic to have her, having worked with several ex-WWE divas before, like Jillian Hall and Melina.
With her connection to ROH through Mike Bennett, it is also very possible she could end up there as well. Certainly, as a fledgling ROH struggles to break through to the mainstream, an established star like Kanellis on the roster could greatly aid them in garnering more attention for themselves. Notably, she has been spotted backstage at some recent ROH tapings.
And who knows? Maybe a return to WWE is in her future. While she has criticised the promotion's indifference to women's wrestling in the past, she has not entirely burned bridges either, and is generally diplomatic when discussing their time there.
